Lyle and April my good friends!

I just finished the last of the 4 westcoast dates with Lyle.  James Gilmer the tour manager, Lyle, and his girlfriend April Kimble are unbelievably sweet to me.  The respect and appreciation they have is beyond belief sometimes.  I am allowed to do these dates and come home, rest up and fly to the east coast for the last 10 dates of the tour.  As you may or may not know I've been on a tour bus for the majority of the year, and the thought of driving across the country again was overwhelming.  I can however come home, take care of my business, get my new recording started and regroup enough to enjoy the process again without remorse or regret.

Thanks Lyle I will alway be there for you. You're a good man!

July 21, 2010 the first day back home

Just came home from a private karate lesson and had a hefty salad.  The kitty's and I are getting re-aquainted and I am SO loving being quiet and catching up on rest by having the odd nap and visiting my old local haunts.

I am a guy who doesn't dwell in the saddness at the end of a tour, but I prefer to rejoice in the fact that it was a success for all involved and, even though I was in a sweet embrace with Andrea, i was joking around right to the very end.

We got to perform for countless friends and tons of celebrities, such as Hugh Laurie from House, character actor Paul Ben-Victor, Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Hilary Clinton, John Hall, Nancy Pelosi, and many many more!  We were actually thrilled to see all these folks loosing it for James Taylor and Carole Kings Troubadour reunion.  They were part of musical history, and we could all feel it!

I am happy to be back and planning to record a  new CD very soon!  I've planned a cool Blues project that should bring a new organic sound to some originals and some cool blues covers.

But first I need to do a few dates with Lyle Lovett, and I've got a few LA club dates coming in August.

See ya soon

Family night in Cleveland 7/7/10

I flew my partner in to meet the family in Cleveland and man did we have a ball!

Laughs and good times visiting my last Auntie alive, going through her photo albums and finding classic pics fro the forties and fifties.  Reminding me what a celebratory people we are.  We love and cherish a good time.

it just reminds me not to get too far away from the things that keep me joyous.  The people I love, the music I create and the FAMILY that remind me how special and priceless this thing is.  God I'm lucky.  This photo is  me and my first cousins.  We grew up together since i was and only child, they were more like my siblings.  The bond is still just as sweet as it was then.  Protected tender, forgiving and blessed.
